#22 Millen McCartney

I appreciate Millen’s calm demeanor on and off the court. He is a very valuable 3&D guy and works relentlessly, pursuing the basketball and doing the dirty work.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Why IWU...

I chose IWU because it is a school that I always wanted to go to. I wanted to go to a small college where I could connect with others. I wanted to have professors that knew my name and I could talk to them if I ever needed anything. I also came here for basketball. The culture at IWU is like nothing else and everyone is very connected. IWU is a family. That is what I look for in a basketball program and IWU exceeded my expectations.

IAm3 is...

Putting God first above anything else. It’s not having to worry about anything because God is in control and He has a plan for your life. He wants to have a relationship with you and you just have to trust His plan. IAm3 is also putting others above yourself. It is setting aside your own needs and doing something for someone else. That could be just buying someone dinner or even something as simple as holding the door for someone. These are small deeds that put others above yourself.

Fearless is...

Knowing God is in control of your life and every situation. He has a plan for your life and you don’t have to live in worry or fear. You just need to trust His plan for your life and know that He loves you. In basketball, being fearless is not being afraid to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes so playing fearless is playing confident and trusting your instincts.

The IWU coaching staff is...

Amazing. They all really want to have a relationship with you and want you to succeed. They push you and want you to be the best version of yourself. They truly care about you and are always available if you need to talk about anything. They want you to have a relationship with Jesus and put Him first in your life. They also want you to be a loving husband and father. They truly are amazing people and I’m so grateful to have all of them in my life.
